The traditional content marketing funnel, which relies on starting with broad, surface-level content (like "5 easy tips"), is effectively broken.
• Commoditization by AI: AI tools can now generate a massive stream of "good enough" basic, surface-level tips and obvious strategies in seconds. When beginners can produce 10x the content creators did a few years ago with minimal effort, generic content becomes worthless because everyone sounds the same.
• The Cylinder Model: The old funnel is transforming into a narrow cylinder. You can no longer afford to start wide. You must lead with your deepest expertise—content that is as valuable as what used to be considered middle-of-funnel material—right from the start.
The Bottom Line: In 2025, depth is not just an advantage; it is a requirement to stand out.

1. Become a Category Pirate: Lead with Non-Obvious Content
If you just parrot industry clichés or share obvious strategies, you become a commodity. The fastest way to stand out is by introducing a brand-new thought process to your niche.
• The Contrarian Take: Challenge the status quo or popular opinions in your industry. This practice separates you from the crowd and instantly attracts people who fiercely agree with your unique perspective. For example, instead of promoting "hustle culture," advocate for building systems and digital leverage to work smarter, not harder.
• Ask Non-Obvious Questions: Success comes from saying "one thing 1,000 different ways", pushing your core message through the lens of unique observations, challenging accepted norms, and providing high-quality educational content.
2. Embrace Transformation Over Perfection
High-quality followers don't trust perfection; they trust transformation. As experienced professionals, we often hide our struggles, but authenticity is what builds unbreakable bonds.
• Share Specific Struggles: The content that generates lasting impact comes from sharing the specific struggle that led to a specific transformation. This means being vulnerable about failures or unexpected setbacks.
